The Flood Watch continues for * Portions of northwest Washington and west central Washington, including the following areas, in northwest Washington, Clallam, Grays Harbor, Island, Jefferson, Kitsap, Mason, San Juan, Skagit and Whatcom. In west central Washington, King, Lewis, Pierce, Snohomish and Thurston. * Through Wednesday evening * Heavy rainfall is expected through Wednesday. Rainfall amounts over the past 24 hours range from 2 to 4 inches on the Olympic Peninsula, one-quarter inch to 1 inch in the lowlands, and around 1 inch in the Cascades. As heavy rain continues, expect an additional 1 to 4 inches in the Olympic Peninsula, 0.25 to 1.5 inches in the lowlands, and 2 to 4 inches in the Cascades through Wednesday. Snow levels will continue to rise to 6000 to 8000 feet today. Sharp rises are expected on area rivers with the potential for many rivers to reach flood stage area-wide. The highest potential for river flooding is currently focused rivers flowing off the Olympics and in the lowlands from King County southward. * High rainfall rates at times this morning and tonight into Wednesday morning could also lead to localized urban and small stream flooding. Heavy rain combined with the already high soil moisture will lead to an increased landslide threat. A Flood Watch means there is a potential for flooding based on current forecasts. You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible flood warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be prepared to take action should flooding develop.

This page is updated from recent data collected by our "DAVIS VANTAGE PRO2 PLUS" weather station. The weather station is placed on top of our roof with anemometer 12 feet above the roof's peak & 36 feet above ground. Data is sent from our Davis weather station at regular rates (ie: every 2 1/2 seconds for wind readings; 10 seconds for rainfall & temperature data; 60 seconds for humidity, solar, ultraviolet updates & for barometric preasure levels). This information is transfered wireless from the "ISS" (Integrated Sensor Suite) plus from 2 other remote temperature sensor stations through a wireless repeater (signal booster) to the main display console. It is then forwarded to "Weather-Display" weather monitoring software program through USB Data Logger (which backs up data should there be a software/computer glitch)... Data is then compiled in Weather-Display software & uploaded every 5 minutes through a Comcast high speed internet connection to this web site. This page will automatically reload @ every 10 minutes or Use the Reload or Refresh facility on your browser to retrieve latest data.
